Guidelines & Criteria on the Selection of Alumni Awardees
On the Selection of Alumni Awardees
The CCT Alumni Association shall be giving out two sets of awards which shall be presented every two years during the Founding Anniversary of the Institution. These are the Most Distinguished Alumni Award and the Dr. Matias P. Perez, Sr. Award.The Most Distinguished Alumni Award shall be presented to alumni who are not presently employed at CCT and who have made remarkable achievements and have excelled in their chosen careers.
On the other hand, the Dr. Matias P. Perez, Sr. Award is given to the following:
- Former CCT employees who have served the Institution for at least five years, have made an indelible imprint in the growth and development of the Institution and who are now making a name for themselves outside CCT.
- Present employees of CCT who have been playing a pivotal role in the management of the Institution and who have also served the Institution for at least five years.
Process of Nomination
- Members of the CCT Board of Trustees, Administration, Personnel and Faculty as well the Officers of the CTC-CCT Alumni Association and all its members may nominate any individual who they believe has met satisfactorily the criteria set by the Committee on Awards.
- Bonafide students may nominate through their Deans and Faculty.
- The Alumni Association shall provide interested nominators with the nomination forms.
- Any nominator can nominate more than one nominee.
- The nominator has to accomplish properly the nomination form with the needed information about the nominee to be submitted to the Committee on Awards for review and deliberation.
- The nomination form shall include the following data about the nominee:
- Name, gender, marital status, age
- Present employment
- Home and/or business addresses and contact numbers
- Educational Attainment at CCT
- Business, public service and professional accomplishments & awards
- Noteworthy researches, inventions, publications or professional/ business accomplishments
- The reason/s of the nominator for believing that his/her nominee is deserving of the said award
- The nominator should also affix his/her signature above his/her printed name. Furthermore, he/she should specify his/her relationship with the nominee or how did he/she know the nominee.
- The nominator is advised not to nominate individuals related to him/her by consanguinity up to the 2nd degree. Furthermore, he/she should not nominate himself/herself and his/her spouse.

- The nominee for the Most Distinguished Alumni Award shall be identified according to the field where he/she has excelled. These fields shall be:
- A. Profession (Law, Medical & Allied Fields, Engineering & Architect, etc.)
- B. Education
- C. Military Service/Public Service/Religion
- D. Business/Industry
- E. Socio-Cultural and Civic Affairs
- Alumni who are now working in CCT are not qualified for the Most Distinguished Alumni Award.
- The nominees shall be screened by the Committee on Awards who shall be composed of:
- Chief of Staff, Office of the President as the Chair
- Executive Vice President as the Co-Chair
- President of the Alumni Association
- Vice President for Academics
- Vice President for Finance
- Vice President for Administration
- Deans of the different Colleges
- Secretary of the Alumni Association
- Program Heads, Elementary and High School
- Some Directors including the Director of CPEL
- Alumni Coordinator of CPEL
- 13. The incumbent Chairs and Members of the Committee on Awards are deferred from receiving any of the two awards.
- 14. The Alumni Association shall make use of mass media to inform the public that the Search for the Most Distinguished CTC-CCT Alumni and the Dr. Matias P. Perez, Sr. Awardees is officially open and that nomination forms are available at the Alumni Association Office and at CPEL.
- 15. The nominators shall be informed that their nominees may not be automatically be qualified to be included in the roster of awardees and that their nominees may even be asked by the Committee to submit their documents for the next round of evaluation.
- 16. The deadline for the submission of nomination forms shall be on the 31st of March of the year when the awarding ceremony shall be held.
- 1. The Committee on Awards will meet every second Friday of the month, four in the afternoon, at the CCT Board Room to review nominee's qualifications and credentials.
- 2. After review of the nomination forms if the nominees met the criteria, the Committee shall sent letters of notification to the qualified nominees requesting them to submit their comprehensive curriculum vitae with appended important documents.
- 3. The Committee shall, then, review and evaluate the documents using a score sheet. If there is a need to validate information, the Committee can resort to background investigation.
- 4. Each member shall rate the nominee using the score sheet. After which, the averages shall be taken to be ranked accordingly. Those occupying the top posts shall be considered.
- 4. The number of awardees every Awarding Ceremony should be based from the number of qualified nominees but should not, in any way, exceed ten (10) individuals.
- 5. The names and credentials of the nominees selected by the Committee will be presented to the CCT Board of Trustees through the President for confirmation.
- 6. If the recommendation of the committee is accepted, the awardees shall be notified through a letter from the Alumni President and CCT President. The letter shall contain the date, time, venue and attire of the awarding ceremony, and other pertinent information. They shall also be requested to submit their pictures for the plaques.
- 7. The Awardees shall be awarded with specially-designed medals with the embossed picture of the Founder and plaques to be given them by the Presidents of the Alumni Association and the Institution assisted by the Chair of the Committee on Awards.
- 8. The joint decision of the Committee on Awards and the CCT Board of Trustees shall be final.
